        The hills of Tuscany

In the Tuscan landscape, between Florence and Siena, are situated antique, well preserved, medieval localities. A visit is sufficient to start a journey into the past. Here you can find the good culinary tradition with its typical products such as cold cuts, in olive oil inserted vegetables and excellent wines.

San Gimignano with his beautiful towers and magnificent buildings from the second-third epoch, is easy to visit. Passing the Piazza del Duomo, Palazzo del Popolo until the church of Sant'Agostino and not to forget the archaeological museum and that of the religious art.

Certaldo is set on a landscape rich of historical interest and naturalistic hiking trails, far away from Siena and Florence approx. 40km. The antique centre of Certaldo Alto is particularly characterized by the red Cotto of its buildings and brick flooring.

Particularly interesting are: the Palazzo Pretorio with its great facade, the church of SS. Jacopo and Filippo and the house of G. Boccaccia. Furthermore you can find innumerable handicraft-shops. In the medieval Borgo innumerable cultural and artistic events take place, like e.g. "Mercantia", an important international festival of the road theatre.
